After our two hours of riding the waves back in Noosa, we jumped on the Greyhound bus up to Rainbow Beach for the night. It was such a mad rush that our bikinis still hadn’t had time to properly dry and our hair was still soaking wet but oh well, that’s backpacker life for you.
We arrived in Rainbow Beach just before the sunset and easily found our AirBnB. Luckily there were still rooms available on AirBnB that night since all of the hostels were booked up. Tip: AirBnB is a backpacker’s best friend.
Not wanting to cook for the night, Alice and I wandered around Rainbow Beach (it’s tiiiiny) and found this cute café to have dinner. It also had wifi which was a big plus.
It might sound odd to you readers but choosing a $10 meal from the backpacker menu was actually something Alice and I looked forward to. We very rarely ate out which meant we couldn’t wait to eat our chicken parmigiana and chips 😉
Rainbow Beach was our gateway to Fraser Island.
Keep your eyes peeled for the next post telling you all about our tour 🙂
Did you catch my post about the time I fed kangaroos back in Brisbane?
