If we were having coffee, I would tell you that time has flown so, so, so fast and I can’t believe that term ends NEXT SATURDAY?! It’s absolutely insane and something I can’t get my head around. So many things have happened and so many things have changed since Freshers’ Week but it’s still incredibly strange to think that we are almost done with one term here at Oxford!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I survived Fifth Week Blues! The past week or so has been tough because we’re getting to the end of term and our brains can’t really cope with much more any longer so it’s been difficult finding the motivation to actually do the work. Everyone I’ve spoken to is just waiting for the term to end, though the wait will be over very soon…
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that Drama Cuppers went really well and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Being in the tech box in charge of the lighting was quite daunting but it was really nice to be involved in the play but not acting (I cannot act to save my life). One of the performances, The Actor’s Nightmare, got through to the finals too and we were awarded Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I went to Oxford’s RAG Ball with a group of people from college. I’ve written an entire post on Oxford Balls which you can read more about here – it was such a lovely, lovely evening and I really enjoyed myself.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that we had our third Bop of term and this one was pyjama-themed – probably the best one yet! I was soooo incredibly comfy and it was a laugh walking through town to the club dressed in our pjs. The best part of the night was being able to get back to college and get straight into bed!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I got round to pairing everyone up for the Christmas Bloggers Gift Swap #apovgiftswap which took such a long time but it will definitely be worth it. I spent time looking at each blog and deciding who I thought would get along with each other and I hope that I am right! It’s exciting getting to know other bloggers and I look forward to seeing how it all turns out 🙂
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I applied to help out at Oxford interviews this year and I got the role! If you’re applying to New College and get called down for interview, you very well may see me around so come say hi! I’m so so so excited!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’m now involved in a production of Pinter’s The Homecoming which will be performed in an actual theatre next term with tickets being sold and everything (it’s crazy) as the ‘Lighting Designer’ – it sounds so fancy?! I’ve also been asked to do the lighting for a college film being produced next week and I’ll potentially be involved with the lighting for another play. It’s so funny to think that this has all stemmed from being the technician for Drama Cuppers!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I pretty much spent the entire day on Thursday planning out the YouTube video on Oxford interviews and experiences, followed by actually filming it with some friends. I then spent all of Friday editing it so that it could be uploaded ASAP. It’s now live and up on my YouTube channel! Have you seen it?! Link below…
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that the rowers in college had the Christ Church Regatta this past week which is an inter-collegiate rowing competition. They’ve been rowing pretty much every day and three of our boats got to the final yesterday. I went down to the boat house and cheered on the teams with others from college and the atmosphere was just really nice. Last night we had the Regatta Afterparty which consisted of black-tie drinks in college followed by a club night. It’s safe to say that the rowers (some of whom had been on a drinking ban for two weeks) went all out and got completely smashed! It was a messy night…
