If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I moved back to university! Today marks the end of First Week and it’s been a hectic past week. I didn’t start the term of that great because I was running on very little sleep and had way too many translations to get done (The Aeneid literally takes me hours! *cries*), my first ever Oxford essay on top of reconsolidating Latin grammar work and arranging celebrations for Charithra’s birthday! That plus going out clubbing probably too many times and consequently not sleeping much… but it’s been an incredible week and I just love being back with everyone.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I hit over 500 subscribers on YouTube! It honestly blows my mind that even one person wants to watch my videos regularly, let alone 500! It genuinely means a lot to me, so thank you all so much. I mentioned doing a Q&A video so if any of you lovely blog readers have any questions to ask me that I could include, please ask away 😉
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I am now officially published on Huffington Post UK! I couldn’t be more proud of myself and I’m so excited to be a regular contributor to their site. Watch this space! My first article was posted yesterday which you can read here – I honestly appreciate all of your support <3
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that we all had mock exams that Oxford call ‘Collections’ just over a week ago. It’s safe to say that my three hours of Latin grammar did not go too well but it only means one thing: I need to actually get down to it and start revising and working properly. We’ll see how that goes…
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’m going to Oxford’s Pink Week charity event tonight and I couldn’t be more excited! What’s better than getting all dressed up, being fed with sweet treats, getting drinks and having a laugh with friends all in the name of charity? I mean, this will be the fifth time this week that I’ve gone out to a club buuuut it’s for charity so 😉
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’m in the process of creating some kind of video for Oxford’s Campaign for Racial Awareness and Equality as I’m their Publicity Officer. It’s exciting that I’m on board with a campaign that I believe can make some kind of change within the university and, hopefully, using my creative skills I can come up with something good! I’m also excited to be designing and contributing to a BME handbook for Freshers that we will be working on in the next two terms.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I need to journal more. I have a gorgeous large moleskine that I absolutely adore but I haven’t written in it since the beginning of the year. I had intended to journal everyday (even if it was a small quote or something nice I had picked up in the day) but for some reason I haven’t been doing so. Do any of you journal? I really want to get back into it.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’m honestly so happy with where my blog and YouTube channel is at right now. I woke up to having hit over 50,000 views which absolutely blows my mind and the amount of support I have received from blog readers and viewers alike has been overwhelming. I’m seriously considering taking the plunge and going self-hosted now?!?! What do you all think?

Congratulations on 500 subscribers and so many views, and on becoming a contributor for Huf Post – that’s incredible! Your article was really beautiful and definitely brought a tear to my eye. I can’t imagine what that must be like but you are incredibly brave and honest writing about it, and I bet so many other people who are in a similar situation will be able to relate to it and maybe feel just a tiny bit better knowing that someone else understands their feelings too 💗 That photo of Oxford at sunset is just too beautiful! It sounds like you’re already off to a really successful second term at uni! Well done! xxx

Wow, congratulations on so many amazing achievements! Yes, you should definitely go self-hosting! (that’s the dream for most of us bloggers!). I didn’t know you did translation as well, I’m a translator too. What languages do you translate?
Thank you so much! Yes I’m strongly considering it at the moment. I do Latin and will go on to do Ancient Greek as part of my degree – what about you? 🙂
That’s awesome! I do Spanish and English translation and interpretation 🙂
Wow congratulations on all your views! I’m so impressed, I would definitely recommend going self-hosting because then you can have more control over your content 🙂
