If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I can’t believe it’s been almost an entire month since I last wrote one of these! Where has the time gone/why haven’t I written one sooner to give you guys an update?!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’ve been back at university for almost three weeks now (wow, where is the time going?) It’s been tough getting back into the work ethic and getting used to the Oxford lifestyle: I’m constantly exhausted and feeling groggy/not 100% and there’s always something that needs doing – I definitely have a love/hate relationship with it all.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I have decided to start rowing this term. It’s only for one term (because I really don’t think I want to continue with it), and the summer term’s schedule is only four weeks long. I had my first outing last week and it was awful. I haven’t got the hang of this rowing malarky yet and I’ve got my second one later today. Wish me luck…
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’m doing my philosophy module this term at university. I’ve chosen Logic and I absolutely love it. It’s a really nice change from all of the language work we’re doing and just generally a break from Classics-related things. I like that I’m getting to use my more mathematical side in my degree.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I survived May Day. I stayed up all night long and went to Magdalen Bridge at 5:30am to hear the choir sing the seven-minute long Hymnus Eucharisticus. Unlike many other Oxford students, we didn’t actually end up going to a club and partying the night away, but instead just chilled in the JCR playing table tennis, Mario Kart and watching TV. It was really nice and definitely an experience (though I slept all of Monday and then most of Tuesday too). In fact, I’m still pretty exhausted from it.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that rehearsals have started for the play I am in in 6th week. I’m part of the chorus in the Greek play Ajax (which is probably just as well, since I can’t act…). It’s been really enjoyable so far but there’s so many lines to learn!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’ve found myself suddenly swamped with work. I don’t know how or why, but I know that the next week is going to be incredibly busy and I’m just going to have to put my head down and get on with it. The work never stops *cries*
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’m back to normal vlogging again! I’m going to start editing all of the footage very soon (I hope), and the first vlog of term should be up in two weeks. Are you all excited?!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I completely binge-watched the entire season of Famous in Love. It’s just a typical American teenage drama, doesn’t have the best plot and is essentially just trash-TV. But I love that kind of thing and I unashamedly admit I watched the entire thing within a few days. Oops.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’ve been eating pretty healthily lately, and it’s only been the past couple of days that I’ve been quite bad. I was also making sure I did a couple of workouts a week but that faded out very quickly. I’m determined to get through 21 consecutive days of doing exercise to form a new, healthy habit. Who else is with me?
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I did a little mini-series on my YouTube channel of my entire gap year in Snapchat videos. I used my Snapchat account a great deal during my travels and I thought it would be really fun to watch the clips all together as a story. Watch Part 1 here:
Tell me…
- Do you have a fitness routine?
- Are you doing anything interesting at work/school/university?
- Did you celebrate May Day?
Peace and love,
