If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’m currently
on a train to London with Jack bound for Luton Airport*.We’re off to Vilnius in Lithuania, followed by Riga in Latvia. It was a pretty spontaneous booking and neither of us have been to either country. That’s another two I can tick off 😉 I’ll be vlogging and Instagramming the whole trip so head on over to have a look. *Note: By the time you’re reading this, I’m already in Vilnius, yay!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that yesterday was the official last day of term at Oxford… which means that it was officially my last day of first year – how crazy is that?! While most of the freshers still have their Preliminary Exams (first-year exams) in 9th week (the week after term ends), I am finito, hence why I’m off on a short holiday! It’s so strange that first year is over. I’ll be typing up a post on Trinity term (you can see my Michaelmas Term reflection here, and my Hilary Term one here).
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I now have
a lot more free time to focus on my newly self-hosted website and my YouTube channel. I’ve lost a significant amount of readers and my stats have plummeted recently (whether that’s because of my move or also because I’ve been posting less frequently, I’m not sure). Nevertheless, you’ll hopefully be hearing from me a lot more often from now on 😉
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I took an extra, voluntary Collection in my last week of term. This is because I didn’t perform too well in one at the beginning of this term. It didn’t end up being too bad, and I got an overall of 75% (though the small passage of the Aeneid wasn’t brilliant and I know I need to work on it). I’m pretty happy with that result though, particularly on my Latin grammar.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I got elected as the new Ethnic Minorities Representative on the JCR Committee for next year. I’m really excited to take over from my good friend Janpreet and organise more events for the BME students within college. It’ll definitely be exciting to be on committee next year.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’ve got a few things lined up for the summer now. I’m really, really looking forward to spending three weeks in China with the British Council to study Mandarin at a Chinese University. I’m also planning on travelling before and after. I absolutely love being in China and I jump at every chance I get to visit. I will be fluent one day.
