If We Were Having Coffee… | Vol. 28

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that *hopefully* I’m back on it with producing content for A Piece of Viola. I’ve got a schedule of blog posts I want to write. I’m trying to get on top of things before I go away with no internet access. I’m back to posting twice a week (three times if you’re lucky) so show me some love pls <3

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I unfortunately have a lot of university work to get through this summer holiday. Since I was lucky enough not to have exams at the end of first year, the tables have turned and I now have to spend a large amount of my ‘holiday’ slogging away at Latin grammar and translations. Academic work play a big part in my July Goals. Wish me luck?!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that my little sister has recently turned eighteen. Eighteen?! It’s crazy how fast time flies. She’ll always be a little kid to me!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that Lithuania and Latvia were amazing. Jack and I had a really great time, and I’m in the process of editing and drafting a couple of travel posts on them. You can see my latest post about Lithuania here. I would also tell you that I made a spontaneous trip to Amsterdam last week (did you follow the adventures on my Instagram?). We had 12 hours to get as much done as possible, and you know what? I think we nailed it.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’ve just starting a new muji notebook as a bullet journal. I started slacking with my one at university (which, as it happens, is completely full now). I’m excited to get back into it. I don’t do anything fancy whatsoever but I really enjoy noting down my to-do list each day.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that for some reason I’ve been feeling really light-headed and faint lately. I don’t know whether it’s the lack of energy and exhaustion, or whether it’s the heat (even though it’s not actually that hot in the UK anymore?!) Hmm… I hope I feel better soon.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’m heading to China in less than two weeks’ time for five weeks. I’m so excited ahhhh! I’ll be documenting my travels, as ever, on Instagram and Twitter (and maybe Snapchat…) as well as getting the occasional vlog in here and there. I’ll be travelling around China first before studying Mandarin for three weeks. Be sure to follow the adventures!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’ve got the next five YouTube videos scheduled and I cannot wait for you to see them all! There’s travel vlogs, a ball, a collaboration… it’s all exciting stuff 😉

Have you seen the latest vlog?

Tell me…

What’re you up to over the summer?

Keep up with the adventures:

  1. Best of luck with all that summer homework; I hope you’ll find some time for it amidst the rest of your summer adventures. I’ll be following your insta/snap stories and hope to see a bit of the fun you’ll have in China. I’ve always wanted to go and hope I can make a trip myself after my last year of uni.
Also, a belated happy birthday to your sister! My own sister is about to turn eighteen in August and it’s crazy to me that she’ll be heading off for uni this time next month. How time flies, indeed.
Do you keep up with your bullet journal during the holidays? I find that it’s much easier for me to keep track of it during the school year when I’ve got loads to do than in the summer when my time is less structured. For now I’ll try get back on track once my term starts.
I’m looking forward to your next few blog posts/vlogs! I hope you feel better soon and have a fantastic time in China (-:

    1. Thank you so much Anu (I’m actually yet to properly get down to any 😁). Yesss, I can’t wait to go to China & I’ll be sure to document as much as possible! That’s so sweet of you, I’ll definitely let her know. & yes I try my hardest to keep up with it and when I do actually use it, I find that my days are far more productive! Thanks for stopping by and for the lovely comment xx

  2. I hope you feel better soon. make sure you’re taking vitamins, eating your vegetables and staying hydrated. I’m excited to check out your post on Lithuania and can’t wait to see how much fun you have in China!

  3. I’m trying to get on a blogging schedule too… It’s tough though! And I also struggle with feeling light headed / dizzy, for me it’s low blood pressure! I just make sure I always have water and a snack with me just in case so I don’t pass out!

    1. It really is tough, especially trying to juggle life around too. I feel so bad about myself when I hear of bloggers who have posts scheduled an entire month away! Water is always the way to go. Thanks for stopping by x

  4. I like your throwback photo. So innocent and have sweet smile full of happy memories. She might be legal now, but still she is still the kid in the photo.
    Get well soon!

    1. Aw thank you Blair – that’s so true! She is still the cute little girl in the photo. Thanks for commenting! X

  5. Sweet post. I love the idea “If we were having coffee” Good luck with your school work. It may be tough doing it during the summer, but you’ll be so thankful for your education once it’s done!

    1. Thank you so much Sara. Yes, I need to keep reminding myself that it will all be worth it!

  6. We just got back from China. Where are you planning on going? We only went to Beijing, but I’d love to see Shanghai, Xi’an, and Suzhou. Hong Kong and Macau are also on my hopeful list. Enjoy!

BTW, I love this “If we were having coffee” series.

    1. Do you have any recommendations for Beijing? The last time I was there I was 15! I’m going to Beijing, Inner Mongolia, Shanghai and Hangzhou. Xi’an is beautiful and the Terracotta Warriors are amazing! Thank you, I really enjoy writing the series 🙂

  7. Looks like you’ve had a few different things going on. Your spontaneous trip to Amsterdam sounds like it was fun, it’s amazing you got everything done in 12 hours.

  8. Hey Viola!
I’m re-reading a few of your articles, and I still love them. I hope you’ll keep on posting here despite your summer homework which may take you a lot of time.
Have a good time in China! x
