If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’ve just come back from a week-long trip to Uzbekistan with Kalpak Travel. I am absolutely amazed by this country and I can’t wait to share all of my posts with you. Hopefully you followed the adventures over on Instagram so you’ve seen a taster 😉
If we we were having coffee, I would tell you that my little sister has now moved to university! It’s crazy to think that she’s growing up and moving out already (she’ll always be my baby sister). I had planned to visit her later this month but I’ve suddenly found myself tied down with other commitments. It’s a shame because I really wanted to visit 🙁
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’ve managed to come down with some sort of travel bug (at least I hope that’s what it is). I’ve been feeling so rough, I’m absolutely exhausted and my stomach is in so much pain. What’s worse is that no-one is home for another week so I’ve gotta stick it out alone! 🙁
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I seriously splashed out on some beautiful ceramics in Uzbekistan. I took money with me, not expecting to spend all of it, but I did. I didn’t expect to buy an entire tea set, but I did. I cannot wait to use it at university, especially as I’ll be hosting regular ‘Ethnic MinoriTEAs’ as the new Ethnic Minorities Rep. I also bought quite a few gifts for people. I know that I’ll be going back to Uzbekistan to get all of my ceramics in the future!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I move back to university in exactly two weeks’ time. I have really mixed feelings about this, but mainly I’m really excited! We have the incoming Freshers (including our college children), and I’m involved with the planning and organisation of Freshers’ Week which will be fun. I also can’t wait to see everyone again! Something I’m not quite looking forward to? The four collections I have during Freshers’ Week as well as the weekly essay and just work in general 🙁
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’ve not really seen many people from university this entire summer. The length of our summer holidays equals the length of two entire university terms so it’s been a while! I just wish in a way that I hadn’t been so busy and that I had actually been in the country more. You can’t have it all…
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I have so many photos and video footage from my entire summer to go through. Sorting out the good from the bad will take a while (let alone the photo editing!) I’ve also spent a substantial amount of time editing the vlog footage: Beijing, two for Inner Mongolia, the Study China three-part series and Uzbekistan. Week One of the Study China vlog had over an hour’s worth of footage that I spent absolutely ages cutting down. Watch out for all of the vlogs in the coming weeks.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I have some exciting events coming up in the next week or so. Two of them include catching up with friends that I haven’t seen in what feels like forever so I’m really looking forward to it.
