Not one to pass up the opportunity of going to a ball, I {of course} ended up balloting for the Law Society’s summer term ball. This was held at Hedsor House & Gardens and, believe me, this venue is the definition of a blogger’s dream.

I was again lucky enough to secure a ticket (you can read about last term’s ball here). The evening promised to be extravagant and decadent, and that’s exactly what it was.
The Gardens
After entering the gorgeous manor, the staff members offered us Pimm’s or champagne (or both, don’t mind if I do). The gardens were opened up and all of the guests spilled out onto the lawns. There was a string-quartet playing music as well as a popcorn and candy floss machine. Further along the lawns, guests could play badminton, croquet or jumbo jenga!

The Hall
Roughly forty-five minutes passed before we were called into the main hall for a three-course meal. The hall itself was absolutely stunning and was definitely instagrammable (blogger friendly? Check!). There was a seating plan and each guest received a goody bag full of sweets and Oxford Law Society stash. It’s so lovely that everything is personalised as it adds a really nice touch.
Extras
There was, of course, a photo-booth set up with lots of fun props to dress up in. What I love about these is that the photo company always posts the prints online, meaning we get a physical copy as well as an online version. They also post the individual photos too, so you don’t have to mess around cropping the photo-booth version!

After our three-course meal, the house was also serving up tea and coffee with mouth-watering truffles. Despite being incredibly full, I couldn’t resist and helped myself to one (or two…). Jack and I just had to get a candid picture with our cups of tea in our stately manor – getting those Underwood vibes 😉
We danced the night away under Hedsor House’s very own Italianate dome, played around in the photo-booth, wandered around the gardens and took full advantage of the open bar and cupcakes. The setting for this term’s Law Society Ball was absolutely stunning and so picturesque. The ladies’ toilets were right next to the private dressing room in the house and this was an ultimate blogger’s dream. Keep your eyes peeled for the vlog tomorrow where you can see everything for yourself!
Does your university have any balls or end-of-year parties?
