Two weeks ago, in the gorgeous twenty four degrees heat, Oxford’s RAG (Raise and Give) hosted a Garden Party in Oxford’s very own University Parks. The afternoon promised to be filled with afternoon tea, croquet, live music and cocktails. The best part was that it was all in the name of charity – what more could you ask for?
RAG had cordoned off a section of the public park with various marquees dotted about. There were also tables and chairs for those quick enough to grab one. Most people sat in scattered groups simply enjoying the weather and the unlimited food (though the sandwiches were pre-bought from Tesco…)
We were all excited for the afternoon ahead, with the dress code being ‘formal summer dress’. I wore a navy floral number from Lipsy* and paired it with white heels (I can tell you that it was a struggle to walk over the grass in them!)
We wiled away the time drinking copious amount of Pimm’s, eating one-too-many cupcakes and enjoying each other’s company. Along with sandwiches on offer, there were sausage rolls and quiches, and an entirely separate marquee dedicated to all things sweet. Think cupcakes, scones with cream and jam, popcorn, a sweet stall, strawberries and cream and cocktails!
Big shoutout to Mani for taking far too many pictures of me on his incredible phone camera (iPhone 7 Plus is 👌🏼):
